“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

It helps form the new individual, and then it must withdraw. The new self unit must be free and not hampered by the demands that could otherwise be put upon it. The new individual has a deeply buried memory of its past lives, but the personal consciousness of the last reincarnated self must not be superimposed upon this new identity. The new personality, in its small astral body, does visit with other portions of the entire identity. It is even given lessons of a kind, but it is very much its own self.

There is great energy connected with the fetus, for at no other time in physical life is so much energy utilized so purposefully and so well directed. It is this charge of energy of truly cosmic proportion that allows for the initial breakthrough into matter. The personality is busy transforming literally infinite data. Much of this work has already been done by the third month of pregnancy. As quickly as the new data forms the fetus and physical structure, the self from the previous reincarnation must begin to withdraw its hold. It enters briefly into this process (of birth) but it does not become the new individual.

Many natural abortions are caused when the new personality is having difficulty constructing the new form, projects to others for advice, and is advised not to return.

Each new rose in the springtime is in truth a new rose, composed of completely new and unique energy, utterly itself, innocent, alive in the world.

[...] Instead, ever-new virgin energy, so to speak, is created constantly, and appears at every conceivable point within your universal system.

(Long pause at 4:36.) In the deepest of terms, while each body has a history, each moment in the body’s existence is also new, freshly emerging into the world, innocent and unique. [...]

[...] However, others, sharing your new beliefs, will gravitate toward you and you to them. I will say more about this later in the book, but it explains for example why a diet-watcher, suddenly determined to lose weight, may meet with veiled or even open resistance from family or friends; why the person who makes new resolutions may find himself baffled by associates’ ridicule; why the alcoholic trying not to drink finds others tempting him quite openly, or teasing him into indulgence by hidden tactics.

New paragraph: Because beliefs form reality — the structure of experience — any change in beliefs altering that structure initiates change to some extent, of course. The status quo which served a certain purpose is gone, new elements are introduced, another creative process begins. [...]

[...] I told you (in the 619th session) to imagine a game in which you see yourself acting in line with the new desired belief. As you do so, see yourself affecting others in the new fashion.

[...] In fact, after supper tonight she produced two more pages of notes that she’d picked up from Seth on his new book: Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment. [...] A copy is attached of her notes having to do with the new book. [...]

[...] The creative abilities become even more available, hence his new creativity, and the new physical steps he has taken. [...]

You (both) are studying the nature of creativity as few others have done or can do—and that is bound to make possible new creative frameworks, and to offer new solutions to situations that cause difficulty only within smaller frameworks. [...]

[...] On August 9, Wednesday, Jane was invited by telephone to appear on the Burke TV show in New York City. On the evening of August 15, Tuesday, Jane and I were having supper at an outdoor restaurant, The Californian, at 7th Avenue and Broadway in New York City. At 7:30 PM, we were approached by Merle Cratsley of Odessa, New York, an old friend.

[...] In capsule form: The data given in connection with a Boston trip, with New York City not heard from yet by us; yet events during the New York City trip, a couple of days after the Boston trip, bear a close resemblance to the data. [...]

And so in the present circumstance the overcrowded conditions will still be further accelerated, until a new synthesis is formed—and it will be. [...] Man will be so shoved together that the impact will literally explode into a new level of consciousness, a new development in those terms.

It is a period of great activity, telepathic communication, an overcrowding physically, but forces great new developments and a new synthesis, and this is your present situation. [...]

[...] And if personalities refuse to inhabit a new body, then no science will be able to give life to the newly formed but uninhabited body.

[...] And the ceremony is not new. Autumns and springs are not new. You sit here with new youth and new vitality—new, but ancient—for there is no newness that does not have an ancient heritage. [...] The joys must be forever new—for they are new with an ancient heritage. [...]

Until the new personality enters, the fetus regards itself as a part of the organism of the mother. [...] If the new personality has not entered earlier to any full extent, it usually does so at birth, in order to stabilize the new organism. It comforts the new organism, in other words. The new personality, therefore, will experience birth to varying degrees according to when it has entered this dimension.

The reincarnating personality enters the new fetus according to its own inclinations, desires, and characteristics, with some built-in safeguards. However there is no rule, then, saying that the reincarnating personality must take over the new form prepared for it either at the point of conception, in the very earliest months of the fetus’s growth, or even at the point of birth.

Between lives an individual may see flashes of the future existence, not necessarily of particular events, but experience the essence of the new relationship and in expectation remind himself of the challenge he has set. [...]

The more prosaic elements of the personality then take whatever measures seem necessary at the time, while new orientation is tried out. [...] When the new sensed reality is strong enough to provide not only greater comprehensions but also to construct a new framework, then the old framework is seen as limiting, and discarded.

[...] He was not sure enough of his new world, still enough a part of the old one so that he saw his life and abilities often through the eyes of the “old world inhabitants”—the others who might scorn him, or set him up for ridicule.

[...] The discontent would still keep him at home working, and yet also serve as a control against too much inner spontaneity until he learned that he could indeed trust the new world of experience.

AFFIRMATION, THE PRACTICAL BETTERMENT OF YOUR LIFE, AND THE NEW STRUCTURING OF BELIEFS

[...] Yet as the approach of the scientific age appeared, before its blossoming, so new tendencies are now showing that do indeed signal a new era, in which the emotions and intellect are no longer regarded as opposing tendencies in man.

The dream also represented the coming birth of new material, for the “family members” gave each other new information and bits of knowledge, so that this was also a reunion of portions of the psyche.

Then I bid you a fond good evening—and again, my congratulations on “Unknown”—the book—and all of them do indeed have a part to play in the new era that is approaching. The “New Aquarian Age” may be an exaggeration, and about it are grouped many distorted ideas—yet it is a popular term that stands for an insight on the part of the people, and is a result of quite valid inner knowledge that an era is ending, and that another has to some extent already begun.

“I have all the material for a new book, suddenly, after breakfast. [...] I know this new book has application to me most practically, too, giving methods of breaking out of my own patterns.² Could feel the bulk and immediacy of the book, but also frustrated that what I’ve got down is so little and sketchy — WHEN IT’S ALREADY HERE. (The following material is, in part, an outgrowth of certain effects described in Personal Reality; see my notes for the 616th session, bridging chapters 2 and 3. That session was held on September 20, 1972, and the notes I’m referring to concern a new development in Jane’s abilities: her initial realization that on at least some occasions she would have more than one channel of information available from Seth. [...]

(Jane had some other insights into Seth’s multiple channels as she continued dictating Personal Reality after that session,¹ yet we continued to think of the new development as one of mostly theoretical interest. [...]

To replace it with a new construction, it is a good idea to suggest that the old construction has indeed vanished, and in its place a new more acceptable one is being built. [...]

[...] Then imagine a new house being built there, of your preferred choice, with all new materials, of splendid design, and see this always in your mind where before you saw the previous image.

[...] Let the first house represent all negative ideas or constructions, and the new house represent the desired ideas or constructions. [...]

[...] It is not simply that past, forgotten, unconsciously perceived events will be put together in a new way and organized under a new heading, but that in that past (now not perceivable), the entire bodily response to seemingly past events will change.

(Very forcefully, if with many pauses:) Your desire or belief will literally be reaching back into time, teaching the nerves new tricks. Definite reorganizations in that past will occur in your present, allowing you to behave in entirely new fashions.

[...] A new event can literally be born in the past — “now.”

[...] These may be old beliefs in new clothing. You may think that you are quite free, only to discover that you hold old ideas but have simply put new terms to them, or concentrated upon other aspects.

[...] Eve, rather than Adam, for example, eats of the apple first because it was the intuitive elements of the race, portrayed in the story as female, that would bring about this initiation; only afterward could the ego, symbolized by Adam, attain its new birth and its necessary alienation. [...]

[...] The woman being created from his rib symbolized the necessary emergence, even from the new creature, of the intuitive forces that will always come forth — for without that development the race would not have attained self-consciousness in your terms.

[...] Any new such experiences give him not only new confidence, but allow for a give-and-take with other portions of the self, which will be quite aware of the changed status, so all of that is important.

(A few days ago I wrote out a “new manifesto” of beliefs for Jane and me, to replace the suggestions she’s been using in the morning after breakfast. [...]

[...] Instead, on Monday and Tuesday nights Jane and I were interviewed—on tape—by Jim Poett of the New York City Village Voice. [...]

[...] An animal, say, in Ruburt’s position, feeling as much new activity in the body, new motion in the knees, new elasticity in the ligaments, would quite naturally accept the improvements with physical elation, even if it had more difficulty one day, or two, than it had in days previous. [...] It would not worry, but would exercise whatever new motions were possible. [...]

The work of the jaws necessitates the actions occurring, and if the new jaws end up with new teeth (humorously), that must not be considered a failure or a tragedy. [...]

[...] A new achievement on the part of a species, or any mutation occurred, occurred as the direct result of personal experience—and of course no information was available otherwise. [...]

[...] A new synthesis is taking place concerning Ruburt’s ideas about his writing and life, so that particular session will simply insure that the old ideas are sufficiently broken up so that the new synthesis can form.

[...] That synthesis allowed the new book idea to come to the forefront. [...] And of course Aspects applies here, and my own book, in that they both served as turning points for such a new synthesis and reorganization of beliefs.

[...] The result you see is the materialization of the new beliefs, as before you saw the materialization of the old.

Now, there is the impression of a new account. [...] It will be in the nature of a new scientific development. [...]

A new product that has been hard to come by, and laws have held it back. I believe that a forementioned death will result in a change of policy in one respect, and a change in policy will help quicken the advent of the new product. [...]

[...] John said Seth was correct re the impression of a new account. [...]

[...] As I left the house, I was greeted in the driveway by Frank Longwell, who was checking up on whether I was watering the back yard and the new tree the way he told me to.

[...] It might also be advisable for the patient to take up some completely new field of knowledge — to learn a language, for instance, or to study whatever books possible in any field to which he or she is attracted.

[...] The patient may also feel abandoned by God or the universe, and may feel unjustly attacked by the disease, thus arousing a whole new tumult of anger, and it is most important that the anger be expressed, and not repressed.
